It's really starting to feel like the "except for the Mongols" exception for revolutions is "except if you're the American Revolution". A lot of the post-revolution things you keep talking about just... didn't happen somehow after the American Revolution. Even the famous "Whiskey Rebellion" seemed like a serious threat and then ended up completely collapsing, a Bloody Week with (almost) no blood.
It would be cool if you could devote a little time before the end to why the American Revolution managed to get everything right (at least from a certain perspective) and have the various factions retreat to working out their differences via political process instead of using rifles. Why did those rebels not end up fighting each other when virtually all other revolutionaries descended to bloodshed?
