So I gather you won't be doing an episode on Switzerland where at the same time the Sonderbundskrieg pitted liberals against conservatives though with different power dynamics and outcome (in Switzerland, the liberals had the power before 1848 and largely crushed conservative opposition, but later co-opted some of them into a broadly consensus based governmental system that endures to this day).

On a related note, were there any ripple effects or reactions to the revolution from areas not covered in this season?

Did Latin America send addresses of solidarity? Did America debate the issue in Congress? Did East Asia care even a little bit?


I always hear about why Russia and England didn't have revolutions but what about Spain Portugal or the Ottoman Balkans especially the last one, the Ottoman Empire was large and ethnically diverse similar to the Habsburg empire but didn't have the same events take place why?
